- The European Parliament adopted by 527 votes to 134, with 35 abstentions, a resolution on the 2021 UN Climate Change Conference in Glasgow, UK (COP26).While regretting the lack of progress at the COP25 in Madrid in 2019, Parliament stressed that it is vital that the COP26 forges a new consensus on the necessary climate action and ambition to achieve global climate neutrality by mid-century and on robust short- and medium-term policy measures.
