- The European Parliament adopted by 557 votes to 34, with 31 abstentions, a legislative resolution on the draft Council decision on the conclusion of the Sustainable Fisheries Partnership Agreement between the European Union and the Islamic Republic of Mauritania and the Implementing Protocol thereto.Parliament gave its consent to the conclusion of the agreement.The agreement will allow French, German, Irish, Italian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Dutch, Polish, Portuguese and Spanish vessels to fish for tuna, small pelagic fish, shellfish and demersal fish in Mauritanian waters. In exchange for this fishery of up to 290 000 tonnes per year, Mauritania will receive EUR 57.5 million annually…
