- The European Parliament adopted by 442 votes to 144, with 33 abstentions, a resolution on the breaches of the Rule of Law and fundamental rights in Hungary and frozen EU funds.The text adopted in plenary was tabled by the EPP, S&D, Renew, Greens/EFA and the Left groups.For several years, the rule of law has been deteriorating in Hungary as a result of the systematic actions of its government. This is having a negative impact on the EU’s image, as well as its effectiveness and credibility in the defence of fundamental rights, human rights and democracy globally.
