Pericles V exchange, assistance and training programme for the protection of the euro against counterfeiting 2028–2034

Procedure COD

Ordinary legislative procedure

This is EU law in the making. The Parliament and the Council, where the governments of the member states sit, decide together on a proposal from the European Commission. Both have to agree on exactly the same text.

What happens next

If this was the Parliament's first position, negotiations with the Council usually follow. If the text had already been agreed with the Council, it becomes law once the Council confirms it and it is published in the Official Journal of the EU.
